Tyson's Mother Move From One Tough Area To Another

Nonetheless, the star quality and the draw power of Mike Tyson is nothing short of astonishing. The bundle of animosity that became famous as Iron Mike Tyson entered into the world on the 30th June 1966 in the Cumberland hospital in the Bedford-Stuyvesant district of Brooklyn, New York. He weighed exactly 8 ½ lb. His mother was Lorna Tyson, who already had two other children, who like Mike carried her maiden name since she and Jimmy Kirkpatrick, Mike's father, were never married. Kirkpatrick was a big, strong labourer, whose legacy to Mike was the genes for the muscular development that would one day make his fortune. Kirkpatrick left the family when Mike was two years old and Lorna took her children to the nearby area of Brownsville, which had even tougher and poorer streets than those they had left behind.

Mike Tyson Won The World Heavyweight Title Age 20

When the 1990s began, Mike Tyson was simply the most feared fighter the sport of boxing had known. He was 23 years old, and the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, having won the WBC version at 20, then proceed to annihilate the pretenders to the world heavyweight throne other just after his 21st birthday. Mike Tyson had an awesome physique, including a unique neck measurement of 20 inches, as thick and strong as a tree trunk. Mike Tyson entered the ring robe less, wearing simple black shorts and black boxing boots with the air of a purposeful executioner intent more menacing than King Kong, Godzilla and Dart Vader rolled into one. Many of his opponents were already beaten before any punches were even exchanged. Only four of 37 had managed to be still on their feet at the final bell, mostly by subduing any violent feelings of their own in favour of self preservation.

Everything Went Wrong For Mike Tyson During The 90's

Mike Tyson got marriage to the model and actress Robin Givens but after 16 months of marriage, Robin and Mike divorced on Valentine's Day, 1989. Then, as soon as the 1990s had  begun, all hell let loose and everything that could go wrong begun to go wrong.  Tyson lost his title to a 42-1 no-hoper in the biggest shock in boxing history, he was charged with rape, he was convicted, he served half of a six-year prison sentence, he returned to the ring after a four-year absence, regained one section of world title, then scandalously bit off part of an opponent's ear during a contest and was banned for a year. His outrageous behaviour guaranteed he would remain boxing's biggest-ever box-office attraction.  Tyson was the youngest Heavyweight Champ in history, and his record is made up of many early round knockouts. On the other hand, he is the youngest ex-Champ in Heavyweight history, and there are some names missing on his record of some of the better fighters of his era.

Mike Tyson Never Had A Father's Guidance

In this new neighbourhood environmental delinquency was second nature to most of the youths, and Mike, not having a father to guide him, he was alone with a mother who though well intentioned, was unable control him nor could she not avoid the influence ofLennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson the streets. But young Mike was certainly not a bully by nature and indeed throughout his life was to display glimpses of surprising sensitivity in the general picture he otherwise presented of utter callousness. at times the world befuddled him , and perhaps his shocking behaviour was a way to bring some sense into it. Apart from his mother, the closest person to Mike was his sister Denise as he grew into childhood. Mike Tyson learnt from her soft and  girlish ways. His voice was quiet, and none antagonistic with a slight lisp, which he retained to some degree even when later on he could alienate everybody in or out of the boxing ring by giving a running commentary of a punch which broke an opponent's nose, as he boast: "I catch them there because I'm trying to push their nose bone into the brain."

The Youngest Heavyweight Champion In History

Mike Tyson rose to fame and fortune as he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history and winner of the largest fight purse, $30 million dollars in a fight against Frank Bruno. Before that he had earned $20 million dollars for fighting Spinks which was what considered as the largest purse in boxing history.  Tyson's private life is as complex as ever. Since the break-up of his marriage to Robin Givens, he has acquired four children, and is reported to be a devoted, if usually absent father. He also has a new wife, a paediatrician, Dr Monica Turner, who says he's a good guy, that he is far more intelligent that the press make out, and that she loves him for himself.
