Jersey Joe Walcott Surprised Louis By Knocking Him Down

After a quick rematch with Billy Conn, Joe Louis faced Jersey Joe Walcott in what everyone believed to be another quick victory. Jersey Joe Walcott surprised Louis by knocking him down in the first round and later again in the fourth. Walcott dominating Louis for most of the fight, cruised down the stretch and Joe Louis was granted a controversial decision that even he himself did not believe he deserved. In their rematch, Jersey Joe Walcott once again started out strongly, knocking Louis down early. Joe Louis Saw The Writing On The Wall and retired after that fight.
