Lennox Lewis Had A Psychological Advantage Over Riddick Bowe

Lennox Lewis literally destroyed Riddick Bowe in winning the match on by a TKO in the second round. In his professional career Lewis was a great specialist of ducking and diving from other boxers by refusing to fight them, no wonder he call himself the pugilist specialist! But on the contrary, Riddick refused to fight Lewis in his professional capacity in showing that Lennox Lewis holds a big psychological advantage dating back to the 1988 Olympics held in Seoul. But in his professional career, Lewis was a great specialist of ducking and diving from other boxers by refusing to fight them. Is it any wonder that he called himself the pugilist specialist! Even so Lennox Lewis was not guilty of ducking Riddick Bowe. Riddick Bowe already knew what the outcome would be remembering the clash between him and Lewis in the Seoul Olympics, therefore, he deliberately avoid Lewis by throwing his WBA title belt in a garbage container. An admittance of  defeat. Shame.

Bob Fitzsimmons was the very first boxer in the history of boxing to introduce the solar plexus punch.  Question: How many times has Lennox Lewis defended his titles? Probably about 7 times! Still, nonetheless, Lennox Lewis has made over $3 million dollars in his professional boxing career. In his wisdom, he has decided that it is best to retire from boxing ring. How good was Lennox Lewis as a World Heavyweight Boxing Champion? And now in 2010 Britain has a new WBA world heavyweight boxing champion in David Hayes who won the title from the clumsy giant, Nicolai Valuev. David Haye retained his WBA title in the UK by beating an out of sorts John Ruiz by a TKO in the 9th round.

How Do They Formulate  Such Rubbish As Strawweight and Minimumweight?

Modern boxing consists of so many variations of boxing titles today that one can hardly keep a count of all the different world titles! There are the WBC, the WBA, the IBF, the WBO, the WBU, the IBC, the IBO, the IBA, the National, the Continental, the International and the Pentacontinental. Whatever is this Pentacontinental title? Then on top of that, there are the boxing weights, such as junior bantamweight title, super featherweight title, super lightweight crown, welterweight title, bantamweight title. Junior flyweight title, cruiserweight title, light flyweight title, strawweight title, featherweight title, light heavyweight ;super world champion, middleweight crown, flyweight title, minimumweight title, super middleweight, super world champion. Heavyweight title and the super heavyweight title. To cop it all, there are a total of 18 different title weights in the modern world of boxing. But how do they trump up with such rubbish as strawweight and minimumweight? What's that? How about a super paperweight title or a light alternative title, if there isn't already one or the other already!

The Boxing Game Is Really About Promoters

Well! Who knows what these boxing organizations will come up with next for a few dollars more. They don't really care about Joe Public as long as they can usurp money to fill their coffers. Boxing today is nothing but a big joke, anyone with a little clout of money can trump up a new boxing organization just to make extra money. It's unbelievable, the amount of boxing organizations each one have their own versions of world boxing titles. Pay for view Television, with the help of Satellite and Cinemas can earn promoters million of dollars as these boxing matches are viewed worldwide. In the United Kingdom, boxing fans will be staying up till after 4am to watch a fight which sometimes last for a couple minutes. Promoters are aware that some matches will only last for a few minutes, and  make even more money for the greedy promoters.  Sometimes these promoters will organized six or more world title boxing matches on the same night. But, then again, that's show business entertainment.

Danny Williams Got a Pasting from Klitschko

When the Britton Danny Williams fought an out of sorts Mike Tyson and won. Williams figured in his mind that he was good enough to challenge for a world title fight. The 38 year old Mike Tyson, had been suffering from an injured leg when Williams knocked him out in round four. Danny Williams is not regarded as a class boxer in any format. Williams only claims to fame, is fact that he is from Brixton in London. Danny Williams on Sunday 12th December 2004 challenge the WBC heavyweight title holder Vitali Klitschko on the strength of knocking out Mike Tyson. The Ukrainian thought Danny Williams was punching bag, knocking him down in the first round, thereafter, three more times. The fight was a one sided mismatch as Danny Williams was severely beaten by  the WBC world heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko.
