Muhammad Ali Launches His Final Attack On George Foreman

In third round of the Rumble in the Jungle  it is Ali who tucks away Foreman’s heavy blows to the body to hit back. After both boxers have used the fourth round to rest from the exertions of the first nine minutes. Foreman comes out to the fifth with the intention to poleaxe Ali as he had done in most of his previous fights with other opponents. Big George Foreman searches for an opening in Ali’s defense while working on his belly and kidneys. In the last forty seconds, however, Ali is back again and brings the defenceless Foreman on the edge of a knockout. Rapid as lightning the straights hail of punches from Ali into Foreman’s face in this round the bell rescues him. Rounds six and seven were fought at slow pace, but again Foreman tries to get through Ali’s guard without much success.

George Foreman Quits From Boxing To Become A Preacher

Then in the last minute of round eight, Muhammad Ali mustered  all of his energy and courage and launches a ferrous final attack on Foreman. Ali lean off the ropes, hits Foreman with a right,  and Foreman done a wibbly wobble around with his hands down. Muhammad Ali punches him with two rights and then places the decisive combination to take out Foreman. Then a big projectile exactly the size of a fist in a glove drove into the middle of Foreman’s mind, the best punch of the startled night, the blow Ali saved for a career. George Foreman was so distraught at losing the fight that he left boxing for 10 years to become a preacher in the church. George Foreman was never the same after the Zaire defeat. In 1977, in his dressing room after dropping a decision to Jimmy Young, George Foreman had a calling vision. George quit boxing that same night not long after George Foreman became an evangelist preacher and built church in Houston.

Foreman Won the Heavyweight Title a Second Time, Aged 45 Against Michael Moorer

For the next 10 years he preached throughout the Southwest. Foreman was convinced that his fighting career had made him lose sight of the most important things in life, such as his family. George Foreman even abandoned his boxing identity by changed his looks, shaving his head and getting rid of his trademark moustache. Money was running out and Foreman made comeback to win a historic heavyweight title at the age of 45 against Michael Moorer. Shortly after the Moorer fight, Foreman was stripped of the WBA title. He refused to fight mandatory opponent Tony Tucker. Foreman then went on to beat Axel Schulz of Germany to retain his title, by a 12 round majority decision. This verdict was very controversial, and the IBF ordered an immediate rematch to be held in Germany. Foreman refused to travel to Germany, and in the process, was stripped of the title.

George Foreman Was Considered The Greatest Heavyweight in the World

George Foreman was born on the 10th of January 1949 in Marshall, Texas, he is considered one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time. George Foreman was raised in Houston, Texas Fifth Ward. Before George Foreman's Rumble in the Jungle with Ali, he was pole axing every boxer that faced him, he was seen as a giant in the ring amongst other boxers. George Foreman holds the record of the fastest knockout ever for a World Heavyweight Championship bout, knocking out Puerto Rican Heavyweight champion Jose Roman in 50 seconds. Before Foreman fight with Ali he was widely considered to be the most physically empowered specimen and hardest hitter in the history of the sport. His technique wasn't anything special, he relied simply on his absolutely phenomenal strength to dispose of his opponents. He was considered the greatest heavyweight in the world.

Big George Becomes Wealthiest Boxer Ever Lived


George Foreman turned professional in 1969 with a three round knockout of Donald Walheim in New York. George Foreman is now a very successful businessman. His nickname is Big George. He is the father of reality show star George Foreman the 3rd. George Foreman returned to the ring but this time round Big George acted as his own manager, which meant that every dollar and cents he fought for ended up in his pocket. The decision paid off. In addition to regaining the World Heavyweight Boxing title George Foreman's ring earnings since coming out of retirement have totalled an estimated $75 million, making him the wealthiest boxer who has ever lived.
